Mrs. Luman's 8th grade Language Arts students wrapped up The Outsiders with a creative one-pager project! Each student captured key themes, characters, and personal connections from the novel using words, images, and symbols—all on a single page. Their work shows thoughtful reading, creativity, and a deep understanding of the story. Pictured that are currently on display in the mid-level building.

🇺🇸 Martin Luther King Jr. Day 🇺🇸

As we reflect on his words and actions, we encourage our students and families to remember the importance of kindness, respect, and standing up for what is right.

✨We are helping students understand that showing self-control means being able to pause, think, and make positive choices—even when they feel upset, excited, or tempted to act quickly.

You can support this learning by encouraging your child to:
⭐Take deep breaths when feeling upset
⭐Pause and think before responding
⭐Practice patience and wait their turn

Thank you to our incredible community, HPS staff, and student body for making our Blood Drive such a success. Our goal was 71 donations, and together we reached 81 donations. This was truly a group effort, and we could not have done it without each and every one of you.

Your willingness to give, support, and encourage others made a real difference. We are so grateful for the time, generosity, and heart shown by everyone involved.

A special shout out to Heavener Simple Simon’s for supporting our donors by providing a free personal pizza and drink to every donor. Your generosity helped make the day even more meaningful.

Thank you all for coming together to help save lives!
