We had a great day at special olympics in Poteau today. Our athletes showed up and showed out with several 1st place ribbons, and everyone that participated qualified for state to be held in May at Stillwater. Thanks to Buddy and Kevin for helping getting runners to their races and to Coach Armstrong, Alex, Jackson, Spencer and Jerami for running the softball throw. Extra Special thanks to Ms. Yasmin, Ms. Beronica, and Ms. Wilson for all you do everyday, and to Mrs Terry for keeping everyone lined out. Also thanks to Mr and Mrs Nelson at Mazzio's in Poteau for lunch. Finally thanks to everyone who helped financially to make this trip happen. Wolf Nation is the best!!! We'll see you in Stillwater at state. Good job guys!!! #WolfMeat #AlphaSpecialOlympics

Soccer District Opener today!

Heavener splits with Mena
MENA, Ark.—Heavener split a pair of soccer matches at Mena Monday night.
The matches were originally scheduled to be played at Heavener but were moved to the wet and muddy field conditions at Harvey Stadium. Mena has an artificial turf field.
Heavener is scheduled to return home Tuesday to play Locust Grove in district matches.
In the opener, Mena girls won, 2-0, before the boys captured the second match, 4-3, to improve to 3-0 on the season. Following Tuesday’s matches, Heavener plays at Poteau Thursday before taking part in a tournament at Stillwater over the weekend.

The Leflore County Health Department will be coming to Heavener March 27th to administer Tdap vaccine to those 6th graders who HAVE NOT already had it. Tdap is a required immunization at the age of 11-12. This is a great opportunity for your child to have this required vaccine administered on site so that school or work is not missed.
Packets will be sent home to parents on March 25th so that there is enough time to fill these out and returned before the 27th.
If you DO NOT want your child to have this vaccination at the school, they will need to be administered the vaccine at their primary care provider’s office or the health department.
If you DO NOT want your child to be administered this vaccination, you may fill out an immunization exemption form to be mailed to the state department of health.
If you have any questions or concerns please call the school nurse at 918-653-3053.

Due to the incoming rain Soccer will play at Mena tomorrow (Monday March 25). We will be playing a home district game Tuesday vs Locust Grove.
