Gifted & Talented students completed a learning styles assessment to determine whether they are an: extrovert, introvert, or ambivert. Using these insights, they engaged in brainstorming and discussion to explore how their results can help them design effective study strategies and improve their comprehension of new information.



This group of 1st Graders was bursting with excitement for reading yesterday! They moved on to a new reader and were absolutely thrilled. Their enthusiasm is incredible, and we couldn't be prouder of them!

Heavener 5th & 6th grade Academic Team members participated in the Hulbert Scholastic Meet today. These students brought home several ribbons placing in the top six in five different subjects areas. #alphaacademics

Please keep it quiet--our students believed they were simply having FUN, not realizing they were engaging in a phonemic awareness lesson today. We believe in using a variety of strategies to keep students engaged.





HEAVENER ACADEMIC TEAM CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS. Our academic team completed their season with a record of 21-3. The team will compete in the OSSAA regional competition November 16. Students have been enjoying checking out books and reading by flashlight this week in the library. Independent reading plays a pivotal role in strengthening reading skills and comprehension abilities. It is one of the most effective ways for students to expand their vocabulary and become better readers. #alphareaders









Nov. 6 the Heavener FFA went to Broken Bow and competed in the S.E. District Sporting Clay Contest. The Senior team placed 5th overall out of 68 Teams and we was one out from making it back to State.

Gifted & Talented students have been studying cloud seeding. They have researched and read journal articles exploring the various purposes of cloud seeding, such as reducing droughts, controlling pollution, and preventing storms. Students also learned about the chemicals used in successful cloud seeding, including sodium iodide.
