For clarification.... Heavener Public Schools will be in session on campus ALL week next week , including Wednesday September 23 which was originally scheduled to be a distance learning day .

On behalf of Heavener Athletics, I would like to invite everyone to join our new Heavener Athletic Gold Club. As everyone is aware due to COVID-19 , attendance( which is the primary funding for our athletic program) is way down. As such, we are reaching out to our Heavener alumni, fans, staff and parents to help provide our student athletics with the tools they need to play and compete.
In recognition each gold member will be recognized during the year at one or more of our sporting events. The cost of membership will be $10 per month or $120 for the year. Please make checks out to Heavener Gold Club. You can mail a check to “Heavener Athletics” PO Box 698.. Heavener 74937 or drop a check off at the Scott Center.
Our goal is to reach 100 members!!!
In advance, I would like to thank each and everyone for supporting Heavener Athletics.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Respectfully
Jim Roll
Athletic Director

Recently your student may have received a P-EBT card. This may have seemed random and very confusing to you as a parent. The following information has been provided from various agencies explaining the program.
“On June 25, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) announced Oklahoma’s approval to operate a Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) program through funding provided under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act. P-EBT provides extra food benefits for families with school-aged children who would have received free or reduced-priced school meals through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and who meet certain eligibility criteria. Oklahoma Human Services (OKDHS) and the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) worked together to create a state plan ensuring that every eligible household across the state could access benefits without needing to complete an application. Through a collaborative data-sharing agreement, current SNAP households identified by OKDHS, as well as non-SNAP households which include children eligible for free and reduced-price school meals identified by OSDE, will automatically receive P-EBT benefits.”
Heavener Public Schools is a Community Eligible Program school and every student qualifies for free meals. Due to this program each Heavener Public School student should receive a P-EBT card with up to $250 credit for food benefits from the state, not the school. The community Eligible Program is/and continues to be a vital program for our community, your support in filling out the applications each year is important for this program, thank you for your cooperation and support.
