The Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence has announced the recipients of it’s prestigious 2022 Academic All-State Awards. Senior Sean Miller becomes the first ever Heavener Public Schools recipient of this award. Academic All- Staters are selected based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities and community involvement, as well as letters of recommendation and an essay submitted by each nominee. The Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence Academic Award Program is Oklahoma’s Premier Awards Program honoring academic achievement, innovation and leadership among students and educators in our public schools. Shawn is the son of Jeremy and Sabrina Dyer and Tim and Michelle Miller. Congratulations Sean on your achievement.

Regional basketball has been postponed for Thursday. Games will be moved to Friday with the girls playing Kansas at 7:00 pm and the boys playing Rejoice Christian at 8:30 games are still in Checotah. Remember you can purchase your tickets online at the GoFan link located on the OSSAA website, be sure to search and purchase online tickets for the Heavener game. Online tickets are $7.00 plus $1.35 handling fee, cash tickets at the gate are $10.00. Ticket prices are the same for students and adults (children Kindergarten age or under are free).

Our seniors received a CPR Awareness training this week. This training was offered by Kiamichi Technology Center and it helps our students meet part of their graduation requirements. These seniors worked hard to learn helpful CPR skills, we are proud of them!
