PATRIOT DAY AND NATIONAL DAY OF SERVICE AND REMEMBRANCE – September 11 Former President George W. Bush made this statement on our first anniversary of Patriot Day and his words are still fitting 22 years later. MAY WE NEVER FORGET! "...We remember and honor those who perished in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. We will not forget the events of that terrible morning nor will we forget how Americans responded in New York City, at the Pentagon, and in the skies over Pennsylvania — with heroism and selflessness; with compassion and courage; and with prayer and hope. We will always remember our collective obligation to ensure that justice is done, that freedom prevails, and that the principles upon which our Nation was founded endure." ~George W. Bush, Proclamation, Patriot Day, 2002 To learn more about this holiday, check out the link below: https://nationaldaycalendar.com/patriot-day-and-national.../

Heavener FFA officers attend training Officers of the Heavener FFA chapter participated in the 2023 Oklahoma FFA chapter officer leadership training celebration Tuesday in McAlester. The eight state FFA officers planned and conducted this year’s conference, which was based on the theme “Empower.” Elected officers from each of the 80 high school FFA chapters in the southeast area attended the conference. The event aims to encourage students to know their role, identify their strengths and carry their weight as chapter FFA officers. Kelly Barnes, from Edmond, served as the keynote speaker. Attending from Heavener were President Kasen Krebbs, Vice President Bryce Morrison, Secretary Charlee Guzman, Treasure Devry Ritter, Reporter Connor Maxwell, Sentinel Hagen Ritter, and advisors Jeremy Krebbs and Chad Ritter.

Wolf fans, due to safety reasons we have put enhanced rules and regulations in place for the remainder of the football season, these regulations will be in effect during any Heavener football game. No student backpacks will be allowed inside Harvy Stadium, with exception of backpacks that are part of required travel gear for cheerleaders, band members, and football players. No firearms or weapons of any kind, no alcohol, no coolers, no laser pointers, and no pets with the exception of registered service animals (service documentation is required). As previously posted all students 6th grade and lower must be accompanied by their parent/guardian. Students will not be allowed re-entrance upon leaving. Parents/guardians of unaccompanied students in grades 6 and down will be contacted to pick their child up. Admission for all football games will be $5.00 with no family paying more than $20.00. All fans are to enter through the main entrance located at the concession stand. A pass gate will be located just east of the main entrance for those with OSSAA passes, gold/silver passes, men and women in uniform, and our senior citizen. We look forward to seeing everyone Friday night at 7:00 as we face Central Sallisaw, let's all "show up" and cheer OUR Wolves onto a VICTORY! #AlphaWolves #Wolf Meat

Wolves edge out win over Indians By CRAIG HALL When one talks about Heavener’s football team, the praise usually goes to the offense. And rightly so. The Wolves have an explosive offense and several weapons. The Heavener defense has not been in the same discussion. That changed in Thursday’s opener against Pocola. After being torched for 32 points in the first half, the Wolves’ defense blanked the Indians in the second half and broke a two-game losing streak against the Indians with a 33-32 win in the brutal heat at Harvey Stadium. The Wolves scored the only touchdown in the second half to take the lead and got three turnovers by the Indians, including two interceptions by senior Jackson Clubb. Heavener also recovered a fumble with just over 2 minutes remaining that allowed the Wolves to run out the clock for their first win in a season-opener since a victory over North Rock Creek in 2020. Heavener will not get to enjoy its biggest win in several years long as the Wolves are at home again next week against Central Sallisaw. Pocola had scored a combined 105 points in wins over the Wolves in the previous two seasons, then used big play after big play to speed away to a 32-27 lead at halftime before that offense came up empty in the second half. The Indians, expected to be one of the main threats to win its district, gets to play against Hackett, Arkansas next week.
