Prom and Formal FYI:
Green Country Cowboy Church has taken over the Revamp dress program from Bethel Baptist Church. They are helping area teen girls with a dress for formal events. Girls can borrow a dress just before their event at NO cost, as long as the dress is returned within 7 days of use. This ministry is located at 200 S. McKenna in Poteau (close to the Fire Department).
If you would like to help with the program, please contact Green Country Cowboy Church or donate a dress in good condition by taking it by G's Cleaners. Let G's know it is a donation for GC3, A Hand Up- they will clean it for free and get it to the store. They are collecting dresses, shoes, new makeup, fingernail polish, and hair clips.

Intern Spotlight:
Gunnar Buckhanan is a senior intern. Gunnar is a unique intern because he can be found interning in two separate locations, Bud's Country Junction and Heavener High School Office. Gunnar is a cashier at Bud's, but he also stocks shelves, cleans, and takes orders. Gunnar feels as though his internship experiences have helped him gain valuable social skills. He loves getting to arrive late to school after working long hours the previous night. Gunnar's goal is to one day have a career related to graphic design or animation. The ladies in the high school office are very appreciative of his volunteer work to help out even after all those shifts at Bud's. Way to go Gunnar!

We will be having our annual Fan Appreciation night Tuesday January 30. Free Admission!!! Come out and support our Wolves and Lady Wolves as we play Talihina in a Black Diamond Conference game. #WolfMeat #AlphaRoundBall

BASEBALL FUNDRAISER:
The HHS Baseball Team will be serving chili before the February 8th High School basketball game against Panama.

Mrs. Scroggins 3rd, 4th, & 5th Grade Gifted & Talented students studied "Abstract Art" today by viewing examples of contemporary abstract art. They created their own abstract self portraits using color & shapes.

Heavener High School was recognized yesterday as leading the state of Oklahoma in CAREER READINESS according to the online resources of the OK Career Guide program that is powered by Kuder and frequently used across our state for ICAP components (in particular career assessments). Currently, Heavener ranks #1 for the number of career assessments completed in Oklahoma! Mrs. Wright joined a webinar yesterday afternoon with Kuder's Vice President of Career Development & Readiness, Dr. Kim Oppelt. They discussed valuable information in regards to the overall successes Heavener has had in regards to post secondary resources, career exploration, and programs geared toward seeing students experience real world careers prior to graduating from Heavener High School. Congratulations Heavener High School on having a team of educators dedicated to helping students achieve success in life beyond high school!
