Wolves named to all-district team
After making the playoffs for the first time in 12 years, Heavener’s football team was recognized on the 2A-6 team that was announced Thursday.
The Wolves improved from 2-8 last season to 7-4 this year and a third-place finish in the district.
P.J. Riddley, who rushed for over 1,000 yards, for the second straight year, was named the offensive most valuable player, Jackson Clubb was the quarterback of the year, Camden Broyles was named the tight end of the year, Fernando Villanueva was the punter of the year, Carson Payne was the outside linebacker of the year, Jaxon Armstrong was the cornerback of the year, Devry Ritter was on the all-district team as a wide receiver, Jacob Vickers, Travis Kincaid and Kevin Bretado were named to the offensive line, Cochise Courturier and Jerami Casteel were on the defensive line and Jadon Long was an inside linebacker.

Heavener opened the 2023-2024 basketball season Tuesday by sweeping a pair of games from Wister. The Lady Wolves won 44-19 in the opener before Heavener took the second game, 56-48. Both Heavener teams are in action again Friday at Spiro.

OK Career Guide is the online resource used by Heavener High School to complete the required ICAP (Individual Career Academic Plan) of each student. Recently, Heavener High School has not only been listed as being in the TOP TEN schools for leading students in the completion of career assessments, but Heavener has also been listed as #ONE across the state of Oklahoma! John Milroy is the Vice President of Partner Solutions and he stated that Heavener "has the largest % of students using OKCG this year." Way to go Heavener High School, keep leading the state in career exploration for high school students!


Heavener opens the state football playoffs Friday at 7 p.m. at Sequoyah-Tahlequah in a game between two 7-3 teams. It will be the Wolves' first playoff appearance since 2011.


Heavener senior Jackson Clubb signs to play college baseball at Northwestern Oklahoma State Wednesday. He is joined by father, Jodie and brother Spencer on the front row and baseball coach Bryan Cartwright and athletic director Brian Terry.


HHS Senior, Jackson Clubb will be continuing his education and baseball career next year at Northwestern State University. Congratulations, Jackson!
