2019 Career Day Information

Heavener High School Career Day is scheduled for November 7, 2019.

To help fulfill state mandated ICAP objectives, each grade will focus on separate tasks.  Activities begin at 10:00 a.m., and students will return to regular course schedules by 12:00 p.m.

Freshmen will complete career interest surveys and participate in guest-speaker sessions to discuss work ethic, goal setting, and college/training financial assistance offered by the State of Oklahoma.

Sophomores will work with staff members from the Poteau Kiamichi Technology Center to learn about soft skills and training opportunities.

Juniors will travel by school bus to the Reynolds Center in Poteau to participate in Choctaw Career Day activities. Buses will leave by 10:00 a.m. and return by 11:55 a.m.

Seniors will attend sessions provided by the following: NSU, SOSU, CASC, Connors State College, OSUIT, UAFS, Army, and Army National Guard.

Choctaw STUDENT SCHOOL AND ACTIVITY FUND (SSAF)

The Student School & Activity Fund (SSAF) offers annual $100 grants for Choctaw students with tribal membership cards to purchase school supplies and clothing.  Application period begins July 1 and closes May 1.
