Dress codes have always been an ongoing debate between students and schools. Some female students feel as if the dress code is made strictly for them, with clothes they are told they can’t wear. Plus, clothes fit differently on different body types. A pair of shorts aren’t going to be the same length on people of different heights. With that, I understand why there are dress codes and rules for what you can and can’t wear because even though the human body is a normal and natural thing, it might make many people uncomfortable. There are a lot of different opinions on whether the school board should change or update the policy. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, almost 60 percent of schools enforce a strict dress code policy. One thing is for sure, the failure to see eye-to-eye on the dress code is a fairly frequent occurrence.
