Heavener Elementary has a new Language Arts teacher, Mrs.Huggins. Recently, I had the chance to ask her a few questions:

G : What is the best part about your job?
H : The best part of my job is seeing a student’s face light up when they grasp a new concept.
G: What interests do you pursue outside of the classroom?
H : Some of my interests are music, walking/jogging, reading, church, and spending time with    my family.
G : When did you decide to become a teacher, and why did you choose this field?
H : I’ve wanted to be a teacher from an early age. Both of my parents were teachers, and they loved working with children.
G : In what ways do you encourage creativity in your classroom?
H : I work hard to use new instructional techniques. Mostly I use my smartboard and encourage students to use technology in a positive way,but I also use a lot of cooperative learning. I believe it’s important to work with and value other students.
G : What was it like for you in college?
H :  I started college after high school, but got married and later had children. So college was very hard for me since I waited so long to go back.

Mrs. Huggins is a great addition to the Heavener Elementary Staff. So far, she loves teaching here at Heavener Schools. She says, “There is nothing like a wolf’s howl!”
