Recently, most sixth through eighth grade Heavener students received new Chromebooks. We interviewed Jorena Stapp, the Assistant Technology Director, about the middle school students getting new Chromebooks. The students were very excited to hear the news. All students (and parents) that signed the agreement letter were eligible to to receive a new computer. There were exactly 200 students who received one. In the agreement it states that they are able to take them home, but if they are damaged they are held liable. Our tech team had to update our wifi system to be able to handle all the devices. With all the new technology our school as a whole has upgraded. It is saving the school tons of money as they will not have to makes copies; they will simply post digital assignments. The teachers are very pleased with the benefits brought to their classrooms.
